Deborah Raoult is dedicated to the unfolding wisdom of the Soma and the liberating power of awareness in movement. For nearly four decades the focus of her teaching has been on awakening this somatic wisdom throughout the spiritual, physical, and emotional changes of pregnancy, postpartum and menopause in the lives of women. Her commitment to spiritual inquiry through Dharma practice began in the mid-seventies.  With intensive retreat practice, she realized that for her, practice had to include the life of the Body, both on and off the meditation mat.

After studying classical Yoga practice and then teaching, she found she had questions that were unanswered by yoga, including this one: Considering the uniqueness of people’s bodies and abilities, what was an optimal way to support change and the lived experience of modern people?  Deborah had the call to look for a different understanding of awareness and movement. Everything changed with meeting Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, founder of Body-Mind Centering, and then Emilie Conrad, founder of Continuum, in the same year.  A portal opened and there was no turning back.

Deborah was authorized to teach Continuum in 2000 by Emilie and continued to be closely mentored by Emilie for several years after.

Her Vajrayana practice continues in the somatic meditation lineage founded by Reginald Ray. She serves as a Meditation Instructor for Dharma Ocean.

Deborah is developing her somatic understanding to deepen her work with equestrians and horses.

She has raised three children and is a grandmother. Babies, Horses, and Dharma are the great loves of her life.
